ABWA Career Chapter names Woman of the Year

Topeka, Kan. – American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) Career Chapter has named Maria Rodriguez “Woman of the Year” at its recent chapter meeting. “Woman of the Year” is bestowed upon one member of the organization that demonstrates interest and involvement in the Career Chapter, contributes to her community, and exemplifies the highest degree of professionalism.

Rodriguez is the administrative and digital media assistant at jones huyett Partners. She is a 2012 graduate of Washburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media.

The ABWA Career Chapter affords an opportunity for women to educate themselves by way of featured speakers, local and national programs, networking; and encouraging women to seek and provide support from and for their ABWA sisters and community.  Members are expected to participate in honoring peers, as well as those of distinction, by attending meetings and sharing their gifts. The Career Chapter also provides opportunities for professional growth to Topeka-area women through scholarships to Washburn University or Washburn Institute of Technology.
